Choose between these two racks by the bike's compatibility measurements first, then check the stored bike beside your car. The MTB version is not a universal upgrade: its stated wheel range starts higher, and both models exclude mudguards.
This is desk research from manufacturer specifications, checked on 2 November 2026. Neither product has been tested by this site. The assessment below is our interpretation of the published specifications for garage planning; it does not establish durability, ease of loading or performance in use.

| Tyre width | Up to 2.1 inches | 2.1–2.8 inches |
| Maximum bike weight | 35 kg | 35 kg |

Use the metric clearance stated by the maker rather than converting its rounded imperial equivalent.
Classic Road: the narrower-tyre option
On these specifications, the Road model is a candidate for a bike within the narrower tyre range, including a smaller wheel that falls below the MTB model's minimum. Its name alone is not a fit check. Record the actual wheel and tyre markings and check the gap between the front tyre and downtube before ordering.
The practical drawback for a shared garage is that a compatible rack still leaves a whole bicycle beside the car. Decide where the handlebars, pedals and rear wheel will sit, and where you will stand to load it. A narrow tyre does not imply a narrow stored outline.
Classic MTB: wider tyres, same stated weight limit
The MTB model is the candidate of these two when the tyre exceeds the Road model's stated width limit but remains inside the MTB range. It offers no additional stated weight capacity in this comparison. Check a heavy bike's actual stored weight, including accessories, rather than selecting by the label "MTB" or "e-bike".
If the bike has mudguards, falls outside either compatibility range, or cannot meet the stated clearance, stop this shortlist and ask the manufacturer about a suitable alternative. Do not remove or modify bike parts simply to force a storage fit.
Will either work alongside the car?
The manufacturer's product pages describe pivoting storage and folding arms. That is useful in principle, but it does not give your particular bike a guaranteed wall projection. This site has not verified a loaded-bike footprint, so neither rack is a preset in the rectangular layout calculator.
Before buying, make a simple movement plan:
- Park the car where it will normally stand. Include mirrors and the door opening you actually use.
- Mark the proposed bike zone using the bike's length, handlebar width and pedal positions. Allow for loading as well as the stored position.
- Check whether the bike can enter and leave that zone with the car parked. If you intend to move the car every time, make that a deliberate choice.
- Check access to the house, other bikes, sockets and any garage-door hardware throughout their movement.
These are planning checks, not installation instructions. Follow the instructions supplied for the exact rack and assess the proposed wall and fixings before fitting. A bike's compatibility with a rack does not establish the wall's capacity.
Decision
Shortlist Road for its compatible narrower tyres and smaller-wheel range; shortlist MTB for its compatible wider tyres. Reject either where a listed limit fails. Once compatibility is established, the deciding garage question is whether the loaded bike and its loading movement leave usable room around the car.
For other storage arrangements, compare floor, horizontal and vertical bike storage. Use the garage layout planner with your own measured storage envelope, rather than the width of an empty rack.
